Dee “Buckshot Dot” Strickland Johnson: Native Arizonan “Buckshot Dot,” grew up on the Hualapai Reservation and the Petrified Forest. She and her husband, Ol” Buck, operated a cattle ranch in the Ozark Mountains throughout the 1970’s.

Dot is an Arizona Culture Keeper and has opened for Lyle Lovett. She has been awarded the Academy of Western Artists Female Cowboy Poet of the Year. One of her books was named Cowboy Poetry Book of the Year, and she has received the Will Rogers Medallion Award. She has written seven books, five dance folk operas, and has produced four CD’s. She and Buck live in Payson, Arizona.
